Touch Type Titans runs mixed age group, after-school or intensive holiday courses for 9-18 year olds.
EVERYONE, at whatever age, benefits from learning to touch type but the move from Junior to Senior school is a particularly great time to learn.
At this point, children have not yet 'perfected' their own inefficient ‘hunt and peck’ method to use a keyboard and there are therefore no bad habits to overcome. Many senior schools now ask students to use laptops regularly in class and a significant number of children these days use computers for GCSEs and A levels – preparing early for all of this is always helpful but it is never too late to learn.
Louis had no desire to touch type. He ended up really enjoying the course and said he was sad it ended! I don't know how you did it! He's now using his new skill.Mother of Louis, aged 11

*this is a target achievement guide only. To build confidence, all children go at their own pace and it is important to realise that age, the ability to focus in class, any learning difficulties and, in the case of the 10 week programme, the amount/consistency of home practice will all impact on the final level achieved.
Thank you for your [end of course] advice email. We have set a target for him of 10 minutes a day to practice and have found that when I have said 'Ok, 10 minutes is up' he still continues to practice!Mother of Oliver, aged 13Following an August intensive course
